Parking & Transportation

School bus transportation is provided by the school district for students attending Bear Creek. However, some families opt to drive their children or walk with them to and from school. If you are providing your own transportation, we ask that you follow the procedures listed below.

Car Drop-Off/Pick-Up

Location: Between the two school buildings, by the back door to the gym.

Drop-Off: 8:45-9:10 a.m.

Pick-Up: 3:40 p.m.  (2:10 p.m. on Early Release Wednesdays)
3:15 p.m. for Northshore Family Partnership (1:55 p.m. on Early Release Wednesdays)

Car Pick-Up Waiting Area Map and Protocol:

Drivers should proceed all the way to the back (north) parking lot, and then loop around to line up by the back door to the gymnasium. The area there will be supervised by a staff member during the times noted above. If you arrive early, please turn off your engine and do not block the driveway while you wait. If you are dropping your child off or picking them up at another time, please do so at the school office. We ask that students not arrive at school earlier than 8:45 AM.  For safety reasons, your student will need a pass if their after-school plans or means of transportation deviate from their normal routine. Information regarding passes can be found on the  After-School Authorizations (Bus and Car Passes, etc.) page.

Essential procedures for all vehicles entering the school site drop-off and pick-up zone include:

  • School traffic zone speed limit is 5 miles per hour
  • Parents need to remain in the car. Students should exit and enter from the curb side
  • Please pull as far forward as possible within the designated zone. This will allow for cars to get through the zone in a more timely manner
  • Only drop off your student in full sight of the supervisor
  • No parking in the bus loading zone for drop-off or pick-up
  • Please do not use your cell phones while in the school traffic zone

Walking

If you are walking your child to school, please accompany them to the walkway outside the school office. If you are walking to meet them after school, please wait for them on the walkway between the two school buildings. Since this is not an area supervised by a staff member, if students expecting to meet their parent or guardian do not find them there when their class is being released, those students will be asked to wait with the students being picked up by car (near the back gym door), until their parent or guardian arrives.  For safety reasons, your student will need a pass if their after-school plans or means of transportation deviate from their normal routine. Information regarding passes and authorizing your child to walk to another location after school can be found on the After-School Authorizations (Bus and Car Passes, etc.) page.
