Possible Boundary Adjustments Impacting Bear Creek, East Ridge and Cottage Lake Elementary Schools

Since we last held community conversations on possible boundary adjustment recommendations from the District's Enrollment Demographics Task Force, we've continued to work with staff and community members toward the best possible plan for the 2020-21 school year. The possible boundary adjustments will have different impacts on Bear Creek, East Ridge and Cottage Lake Elementary schools. Before submitting final recommendations to the School Board for action, District staff would like to get community feedback on the options and their impacts.

The following options were presented at an open house on June 5, 2019:

Option A

  • Neighborhood students remain at Bear Creek.
  • EAP students reassigned to feeder pattern EAP sites based on their neighborhood school.
  • Woodinville High School feeder pattern EAP located at either Sunrise or Bear Creek.

Option B

  • Bear Creek becomes an academic programs only school.
  • Reassign neighborhood, non-EAP, students from Bear Creek to Cottage Lake.
  • EAP students reassigned to feeder pattern EAP sites based on their neighborhood school.
  • Woodinville High School feeder pattern EAP located at Sunrise.
  • Current programs located at Cottage Lake would need to be relocated.

Option G (New)

  • Bear Creek becomes an academic programs only school.
  • Split Bear Creek neighborhood into two feeder areas divided by Woodinville-Duvall Road.
    • North assigned to East Ridge
    • South assigned to Cottage Lake
